I can also confirm a similar error / bug for vfox v0.9.1 when using vfox search python to install python, but I get a different error message. It seems that the dependencies required for building python3 are missing.

The Python build failed because the system is missing required development libraries for bzip2, ncurses, libffi, readline, and OpenSSL.

To resolve this on Linux (based on the log):

1. Update the package list: sudo apt update
2. Install the missing libraries: sudo apt install libbz2-dev libncurses-dev libffi-dev libreadline-dev libssl-dev
   Retry the Python installation.
