Inconsistent newline behaviour between editors

Expected Behaviour

<br> or an actual newline should render as a newline in hover in both neovim and vscode.

Actual Behaviour

In NeoVim

In VSCode

Reproduction steps

1. Create an annotation that uses <br> or a newline to have multiline documentation
2. Hover it in both NeoVim and VSCode

Additional Notes

According to the documentation both should work, 2 spaces appears to work in both, \ works in both but in NeoVim renders an additional backslash character.

The specific parsing of Markdown syntax itself is not the responsibility of the LS. For the editor, how to render the Markdown text returned by the LS depends on the editor's own capabilities. Perhaps in this case, Neovim does not support rendering text that contains HTML tags.
